The year began with a big snowstorm in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas in mid-January. By the time the event ended (early on the 16th), Valley Springs (Boone County) had 14 inches of snow, with 13 inches a few miles south of Marshall (Searcy County), 12 inches near Canaan (Searcy County), Harrison (Boone County), and Pindall (Searcy County), and 11 inches at Lead Hill (Boone County The NWS says highest amounts were across the far north, and across the southeast. Camden came in at 6 inches, and Gamaliel reported 5 inches. Here’s a list of other totals from around the state listed on the NWS storm reports page as of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday: Lonoke County estimated 5.0 inches with reported areas of 6.0 inches.

We are curious for those of you that received snow, how much There have been reports of 3-6″ there. The least amount of snow was seen at the lowest elevations. The Arkansas River valley and the Little Rock metro saw a trace to as much as 3″ of snow. Overall the snow reports matched up pretty well with the Arkansas Storm Team’s forecast.
